Hey guys,
I’m coming out of the closet – hehe – I have Inattentive Type ADHD, and I finally got a prescription for Concerta this morning to help me manage my symptoms! I’ll let you know how it goes.
I started noticing difficulties throughout college, but I just chalked it up to being homeschooled previously and not being accustomed to the classroom experience and the attention span needed to do well! But, now that I’m out of college and I’m at a desk job, I feel like I’m going to jump out of my skin with boredom sometimes, and usually the results in me turning to daydreaming or puttering around not getting much done. And there’s the driving thing…
One more ticket or accident in before next January and I’ll have my license suspended! No good! And I’m not even a bad driver, I just get so distracted and bored in traffic that I stop paying close enough attention to what’s going on around me and I end up speeding or rear-ending someone. Anyway, it was time for a change. So, I’m venturing into the world of stimulants to see if they will help keep me on task. If that doesn’t work, I always have knitting to keep my fingers busy so my ears can listen!
Maybe I just wasn’t disciplined enough as a child and now I have to resort to prescription medicine to deal with a behavior issue…

hey, there Lisa. I would not have diagnosed you when you were growing up as being adhd I don’t think of you as being a hyper-active child. Bryanna yes!
However, if I understand what I read I guess you can still become that way for diffent reasons.
I think you did the right thing to pursue answers to your questions and getting it taken care of. Grandma loves you and always remembers you in my prayers as I do all the grandkids. Growing up today is far more complicated than when I did but as you know I am ancient and great grandmawish. That’s a new word don’t try to find it in the dictionary. LOVE YA
I was that kid that the teacher kept saying “please sit down!”
I wasn’t bad…just ant’s in the pants kid. Now I’m in college, doing a PhD in a computational field. Sitting down drives me NUTS. Finally last year at college they gave me a TOVA test and it said I was ADD. I’m also on Concerta, but be careful going too high…I just had a horrible experience with 54mg where I had an awful reaction! But now I still need to work on procrastination
As in reading your blog type
